Great layout/design/concept but crowded

Course was in great shape, especially considering the dry conditions.

Good spot and we enjoyed ourselves. A tale of 2 nines; the front felt a little scruffy but the back showed off much better. Would play it again as part of a package. Slow -lay again

Greens a little suspect but great track

My favorite course I’ve played

Hated this course 1st time I played it. Loved it this time.

Course is normally very fun however this year the staff seemed to be actively trying to make it so we didn't have an enjoyable experience. The starter felt the need to tell us he was disgusted we had caddie girls, the staff in the restaurant all seemed to be miserable and the ranger came around and asked us to speed up because the group in front of us was a hole ahead even though we teed off early and there was no group in the fairway when we teed off and the group behind us was not waiting on us. Also, the course was in the worst conditions of the courses we played all week.

Played it Spring of 2025 and the course was in much better shape than 2026. Mildly disappointed in the condition of such an iconic course.

Tee boxes and greens were in bad condition.

A really nice course, but the group felt the condition of course has slipped a little over the past few years. We will probably forego playing it next trip.

Course very was dried out and not in good condition.

Great forgiving track in the middle of our itinerary.

Great Shape. Fairways were soft due to some rain and some bunkers and sand traps had more standing water that was surprising. Greens were in excellent shape. Love this course.

Great course! Tee to green great shape. A little surprised how much water was in some of the traps and waste bunkers. Greens were rolling great!

Great Golf Coarse but pace of play was horrendous....our foursome felt pushed all Day and we waited on every hole.... 5 1/2 hours and we teed off 20 minutes behind .....we actually missed our Tee time at another coarse for the afternoon...plus we were exhausted from all the waiting. not a big fan of starting on 1 and 10....I get it and understand but, we were last group to go of #1 and 2 groups that started on number 10 that morning had to wait on group in front of us and our group to tee off....it appeared to me that a group in front of us had 3 holes open in front of them ...

True Blue is one of my favorites but this year’s experience was terrible. It took us 6 hours to finish the round due to doublebooking tee times. I spoke with a few different employees and they are well aware of the issue but don’t seem like anything is being resolved. Course itself was great but I wouldn’t go back because of how terrible they managed tee times

True Blue at one point was my favorite course in the area but overbooking and pace of play has ruined it. The course itself was in good shape but it took our group six hours to complete the round while keeping pace with the group ahead of us. When we made the turn there were four groups waiting to start their round. Management needs to do a better job of scheduling tee times to clean up pace of play. It was apparent that this issue is well known but nothing is done about it. We have played this course many times but won’t be back until this problem is resolved.

Loved the layout. Loved the condition. Hated the pace of play! Would be in top courses if not for 5.5 hour round.

Mike Strantz design, very good layout, nice views, good condition, friendly staff. Must play, replay available with sister course caledonia a plus. Good practice facility. Great pro shop.

Jumped to the top of my favorites. Great golf course with outstanding staff. Visually appealing, generous fairways with great green complexes. Its just a fun course that offers challenges but doesn’t beat you up. Too pricey to play as often as I’d like but I’ll definitely be back.

This course was the week’s highlight. Excellent condition but it shines most in its design. My second Michael Stranz course (Tobacco Road) and I’m a big fan. Lots of risk/ reward decisions. SO much fun. Wish we had time to sit on the clubhouse deck, but we had a plane to catch.

Love True Blue, but it’s beat up. Tees and fairways were shaggy.

Waste areas were terrible. Deep footprints everywhere. Not well manicured

Nice staff, charger on cart not working. Not sure why course does not invest in better yardage markings. Discovered the Golf Distance GPS on Myrtle Beach Golf App is useless. Gators were impressive. Greens, T's, and fairways were in good shape.

Of the three, I likes True Blue the best - it looks intimidating but actually is very playable. I'd definitely play this one again when I come back to Pauleys Island.

First time we've played this course. Half the guys loved it and half the guys don't want to play it again.

Just about perfect as far as conditions and a notch above the others as far as presentation, facilities and course conditions. Perfect day at True Blue!

Great layout. excellent condition. The golf staff was friendly and customer focused. First time played, and it was a definite keeper for a future trip.

For a high end (expensive) course, it did not meet expectations- Cart broke down last year. Did not have GPS on one of our carts this year necause some were missing them.. Probably won't go back

Cool trac but employees at the course weren’t great kind of rude. Course was not in great shape.

Greens were just punched. Club house was closed so no food options.

This course had a lot of traffic and the ProShop tried to split our group (2 threesomes into a foursome/twosome + their add-ons - while blaming GolfTrek for the booking). They recanted and the round went well)

My favorite course of the bunch, but was not in the shape I remember. Lots po annua on the fairways and the greens were just OK. Staff was friendly.

Some spectacular par 3s and challenging approach shots. The target golf aspect of the course slows pace a little with first time players. You are continuously checking the gps screen to verify the distance to the next hazard. Great golf course nonetheless.

Really excellent course. Wide fairways so grip it and rip it off the tee. Watch out for the alligator hazards near water.

Super conditions! Frost delay, but got us on the course as quick as possible! No cart restrictions except par 3's Unlocked computer on cart so handicap player could go everywhere.

The course was awesome as usual. We had a back up before getting started but then things moved better. It seems as though the course is being overbooked.

One of my favourite courses I’ve ever played. Deserved the same level of recognition & hype that Tobacco Road gets, if not more. Loved the Finn Scooters also.

great course except for the mosquitoes

In poor shape. Greens shaggy. Practice tee largely unusable. Fairways thin and spotty. Tees often in poor shape - especially par 3s. Drive a very long way to play these two great designs. Very sad to se show poorly maintained they are.

This isnt an shot at the course. Its a great track. One of my favorite down there. They had just punched the greens. Its really frustrating this wasnt shared with us before our trip. We would have changed courses.

Amazing course & staff! Definitely recommend playing again

Course was in great shape. It we played a 5.5 hour round. Called the pro shop multiple times about pace of play but nothing was done. Course was in good shape, but pace of play and service were disappointing.

A favorite of the group along with Caledonia. This course will also make next years list.

Again, bag drop was very jammed up and pushed us back 45 minutes. Fortunately we were able to get our full round in. They allowed the first group out of the day to play a 3 hour 9 hole round

Course was great. We were trying to get some lunch between rounds. They gave us 15 minutes to get back out after we had ordered our food or said we couldn’t get our. Thought course would have been full. It was empty. Stil. Can’t figure that out.

Only I can say is wow, it is the # 1 golf course in South Carolina. Really awesome and fun course.

Great service and a great course. Would definitely go back and play this again. Again a few fairway spots were not as grown in as I would have expected in May but less than Pawley’s and not a major issue.

Outstanding golf course, staff was wonderful to our group. I did slip and fall on hole number 2 when I stepped on one of those wooden ramps to retrieve my golf ball. In the early damp conditions, those boards are slippery ... maybe some signage warning golfers might be helpful.

Tough course but I love it.

One of my favorite courses but I was disappointed in the overall condition of the course. I’ve played this course a half dozen times and it was always in pristine condition. This was the first time where the tee boxes and many parts of the course near cart paths, surrounding fairways, etc that were not in good shape

A close second to Caledonia, the greens were on the slow side and 17 looked like a checker board with the poana. Ride the scooters they are awesome.

This course didn’t disappoint. It’s in super condition. Wide landing areas off the tee boxes would make this course enjoyable for anyone. But if you a little off on your second shot. Be ready for your some deep green side bunkers.
