Sea Trail – Maples Course

Bag attendant was rude to a member of our group. Had to check in at the convention center and drive to maples. Waste of time and energy....

Maples would be a keeper for us. A terrific course in great condition

Great course, need some fairway improvement but overall good place to place

Cause was remodeled recently a.d had not matured. Fairways were la king grass in a lot of spots. Greens were okay but not mature yet.

Great improvement on the course and with more time the greens will only get better!

Sand traps need sand and inconsistent

Poor fairways, way too much waste and confusing layout.

This course was in good shape, but directional signage was absent where it was needed. Our condo was actually on the 18th fairway, and I was instructed by the pro shop that we would need to park at the main clubhouse and ride the shuttle. We chose to use drop off and actually park at the condo. I was told that the parking lot was for members only and that the clubhouse was closed only when we dropped off clubs.

I would give the Sea Trail courses a rating below the Pawleys Island courses we normally play. Not the same standard of care and maintenance.

Nicely laid out, and the staff is quite friendly. Only issue is the restaurant for the Maples course being closed for remodeling

Different from the Jones course..not quite as chilly and no wind...a pleasant round

good course needs a lot of love around rough areas I know maples likes Waste Areas but redesign cutting out some of waste areas would be a plus

A very good course needs some work it had a lot of bare rough areas. I believe Maples got a little carried away with amount of waste area good but nowhere near level of other three but, still a good day.

Way too much waste bunkers. Replace a majority of it with rough.

Greens could had been more receptive

The renovations to the course are fantastic. Our group’s favorite of the three. Staff was excellent

Very impressed with the course. Very well maintained and easy to play. We had a great time at the course. Everyone was surprisingly happy with the course. Looking forward to see the renovation of the clubhouse next year.

I have always liked this course. The next thing on the renovations chart should be the Maples cart paths. The greens were better than Jones and I would rate the whole course higher except for the paths.

I have played 107 golf courses in the marketed "Myrtle Beach / Grand Strand" area over the past 40 years, and have them all ranked on my Excel spreadsheet. Maples is my favorite of the 3 Sea Trail courses. Knew the condition might be suspect with this good of a rate. Condition was not good, but acceptable. We know it follows Byrd with a complete overhaul. Will once again be a gem. STILL a great layout.

the course set up was decent the greens were in a lot better shape than Jones. Options for food on the turn was limited. only options were chips and candy.

Pretty much the same as Jones but definitely better, I’d guess by next year both courses will be up to par.

slightly disappointed that the pub wasn't open. mainly because we just arrived and planned to eat before teeing off. if we knew in advance we could have eaten before arriving. the course itself was okay.

Loved the course and layout. Staff was very nice . will go back maybe next year.

better routing with a couple of mistakes, ridiculously narrow fairways as they did a poor job of overseeding, greens have not been aerated in far too long

Pretty layout but with all the construction around the course it wasn’t in the best shape. If you didn’t land in the fairway you were hitting off dirt and debris. Not having a driving range was odd!

Fairways were mowed a bit narrow. Greens rolled well. Cart paths were a bit rough, lots of broken pavement ruts to be careful not hitting while driving.

Areas off of fairways were horrible. Not what I would expect for the money.

The course has really gone downhill over the years.

Not well mantained and staff was saying the courses were close to being sold and no one cared.

Reported to Cliff, terrible course. Bad fairways and dangerous cart paths. Greens had at least 3 different types of grass. Poorly maintained. Clubhouse closed at 230 pm. Couldn’t finish round as sprinklers were on the green. Very bad experience. Glad that our money was returned for other booked rounds. We were able to book better courses.

Course was in horrible shape and stater was lackadaisical in hiss approach to his duties. We will NEVER play this course again.

Terrible condition. No food options. The guy at the clubhouse told me before we teed off and again at the turn that a cart would come around with sandwiches and drinks. We played 37 holes and cart never showed up. Course needs to be bulldozed.

Worst course on the trip. Golf shop guy was rude and tried to tell us the course was closed. Will not return here.

Course will not be open this time next year. They are putting no money into it. Clubhouse was empty, no food, and staff were unfriendly.

Course conditions the worse I've seen in MB. The course should have been closed. Cart paths unridable, tee boxes were awful. It was quite embarrassing for me to have the group play there.

Rain got us so no golf. Gave 4 stars because I love the Maples course.

Overall upkeep of the course was poor. With as many options to play in the NC/SC coast I don't plan to come back. We played on a Saturday, where were the workers? The grill was not open that is very poor!

Greens, tee boxes and fairways playable but not great. All looked like they needed a mowing but also very soggy conditions. Bag drop guy was very nice and helpful.

Course in good shape for time of year, and the entire staff interactions were cordial and pleasant.

Probably the most diverse course and fun. Needs upgrading on the cart paths or eliminate the worst spots .

Was not maintained well....cart paths were in awful condition. Our cart just up and stopped halfway down the first hole that we played. I had to walk back to clubhouse and get a replacement.

No one in club house after we teed off. Locked up. No restroom access at clubhouse, restrooms on course locked up also. Not very welcoming at all. Wanted to play another nine; had to pack up and go to other course to pay and play.

Loved the sprawling waste bunkers, many water hazards and Bermuda grass greens.
